comment on journal entry: Avoid 1&1 Internet
:-
yes, are these people even legal in uk?
i spent 25 minutes on the phone today after being swayed by 1&1's promotions. I was calling to talk serious tech about a top of the range dedicated enterprise server and further to that the ability to add file server etc for a big music site.
the sales line doesnt answer at all, called HQ in Slough, end up talking to what sounded like a phillipino schoolgirl who hardly had the ability to speak, and who was generaly tongue-tied with endless umm-ing and err-ing and sounded like some stereotyped shy asian girl
She had no ability to answer anything, i requested someone who did - she gave me a number to call instead - this number was the number i had dialed and connected to her on in the first place - I pointed this out, she just blustered and umm-ed and err-ed like a frightened schoolgirl (and the line was almost impossible to talk on as they were using some massively bandwidth restricted connection.)
finaly i was re-routed back to the main freephone number which informed me to "Try again later"
i would say they exibit all the signs of a company about to go to the wall so watch out - i wonder if in fact this company is a scam what with NOT having any UK contact at all.
