celebrating dissertation hand-in

8 months of uni work concluded today. Our dissertations are over, and as an added bonus, so is all of our coursework.

To celebrate we spent the afternoon drinking and playing cards in the Parade, had a meal at the posh Empire Hotel Garfunkel's, and then went clubbing in the brand new 'Qube.'

Our special guest for the evening was Prof James Davenport, who happened to be wandering past as we got to the restaurant. He was happy to join us and even gave a speech to say how much the staff appreciated our dissertation efforts. Top man!

Much drunkardness followed on all fronts. Speeches all round; Chris P spills wine all over himself; Alex leaps head-first into a Garfunkels pillar; Jenny, Gaz and I reveal some dark sexual secrets (some less secret than they should have been); Gareth is crushed beneath a leather chair; Skip and Becks enjoy some jigginess in Qube and finally, a long stumble home for everyone and a two-hour 9:15am lecture in the morning.
