wendy's 24th

A night of razzlery at Infernos in Clapham. The podium dancing was the highlight - First Cat and Wendy, then Alex threw in an incredible and quirky dance-off against another podium dancer. Here's the video:

manish's leaving do

Fun in Bar 38, West India Quay. Manish leaves the "troubled" GEDS team where Alex will now be working 40-hour days!

The bad photo of Wendy was removed - you owe me one now!

amazing honesty!

I ordered two sets of iPod speakers and a radio remote control from Apple on the weekend but forgot to update the address on my Apple account. So, the package got delivered to my old uni digs, and I hadn't realised it. Then something amazing happened.

The new tenant saw my name on the package and Googled it. When she found this site she sent me a message to say she'd got my package. How's that for honesty?

I'm arranging to meet her on the weekend to pick up the parcel, hoping a bottle of wine or box of chocs will make a good thank-you present smilie face

stuart's stag do

My first experience in a strip joint. Seedy as hell - complete with a very obvious pimp dressed in a long red leather jacket and a brawl that was resolved by the bouncer. He floored the offender with a single move!

We later went to the Electric Ballroom in Camden

hybrid (djs) at brixton jamm

DJ's Hybrid formed the entire soundtrack to my final year of uni, and got me through the pain of revision. My former housemate Steve will vouch for that. I invited him to tonight's gig and he replied "after a year of hearing you play Hybrid in Bath, if I hear it again I may have to top myself."

Why are Hybrid special? For me its the cinematic and futuristic qualities of their sound, full of interesting chord patterns and mind-blowing orchestral backing. No other dance act comes close. Tonight they played at The Jamm in Brixton. The crowd were warmed up by DJ's Twisted Melon, and at 1:30AM, Hybrid kicked off. The set lasted until 6AM, but for those of us not popping pills (i.e. me and Cat), come 4:30AM we'd used up our last calories of energy on the dancefloor and called it a night.

An awesome night!

rock night at the mean fiddler

Tonight Alex organised a trip to The Mean Fiddler, a grungy club in Tottenham Court Road. A few people braved it including rocker Artur and his girlfriend Caroline, Al, Carole, Dan, Sam, Amy, Sheraz and Cat, who looked the part in heavy studded black leather boots and a short tartan skirt.

For me, the highlight of the evening was watching a guy perform kung fu on the dance floor, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings. Unfortunately noone stepped up to be his sparring partner, so he was all alone with his roundhouse kicks and punches..
