I have spent over a year of my life trying to move around 800 domains away from 1and1. The process has been dreadful and I advise anyone thinkingh of using a third party domain provider (or any other Internet service) to avoid this sorry excuse for an Intenernet company at all costs. I have over 200 emails, some of them virtually begging for help from them. The simple task of changing a TAG was compounded by the fact that their cancellation site never (AND STILL DOES NOT) work. I would email them...they would then request I call them...i would get an agent who can hardly speak english logging into my account and then telling me 'it doesn't work'... This circular sistuation went on for month after month and has cost me dozens of valuable wasted hours in emails and phone calls. I wish i had the time and resources to sue them. AVOID 1and1 for a happy bouncy life!
I wantes some easy readymade websites and weas told 1&1 would do it OK. But after reading all the negative comments here, I changed my mind. I've used www.Bluehost.com for about ten years with zero problems and had very competent engineers, who go the extra mile to help you out. THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE EITHER? Derek Fairbank-Laws.
